FAQ
Why would an HVAC company handle insulation?
Because your system's real-world performance is equipment plus envelope. A right-sized system in an under-insulated home runs like an undersized one — and when we're already in the attic for ductwork, addressing insulation in the same mobilization saves real money versus separate contractors.
When does insulation genuinely need replacing rather than topping up?
Water damage, pest contamination, or mold history — situations where the material itself is compromised. For mold-sensitive households especially, old contaminated insulation above your living space deserves a real assessment, not a top-up over the problem.
Do you do standalone insulation jobs?
Our focus is insulation in connection with HVAC work — system replacements, duct projects, and whole-home comfort corrections. For a standalone insulation-only project, we'll tell you honestly whether we're the right fit or refer you well.
Fixed in the same attic trip as your ductwork — evaluated honestly first
Insulation enters our work through the attic hatch: when we're replacing ducts or installing systems, we're looking at your insulation anyway, and telling you what we see costs nothing. Sometimes it's fine and we say so. When it's compressed to half its rated depth, water-stained, pest-contaminated, or carrying mold history above your bedrooms, addressing it in the same mobilization as the duct or system work saves the cost and disruption of a second contractor's attic day. For mold-sensitive households this matters double — contaminated material above the living space undermines every air-quality dollar spent below it. We scope it with photos, price it plainly, and never invent an insulation problem to pad an HVAC invoice.
