Why replace instead of just cleaning the ducts?
Duct cleaning can help with metal ductwork, but fiberglass-lined or duct-board material that's been contaminated with mold is porous — mold can grow into the material itself, not just sit on the surface. Once that happens, cleaning can't fully remove it; the affected sections need to come out.
How do I know if my ducts need replacing instead of cleaning?
We inspect the duct material and condition first. Metal ductwork with surface dust is often a good candidate for cleaning. Duct-board, fiberglass-lined ducts, or any ductwork with visible mold growth or a history of water intrusion is where we typically recommend replacement instead.

Why we replace ducts instead of 'cleaning' them
We made a deliberate business decision most HVAC companies won't: we don't sell duct cleaning. Porous duct board and fiberglass-lined runs absorb decades of dust, moisture, and biological material into the material itself — brushing the surface makes the invoice real and the problem cosmetic. When ductwork is genuinely compromised, the honest fix is replacement: new, properly sealed, correctly sized runs designed for how your home actually moves air. Our process starts with inspection and evidence — photos of what's actually in your ducts, static pressure readings, sizing analysis — and sometimes that inspection concludes your ducts are fine, which we'll happily tell you. When replacement is warranted, you get airflow designed room by room, mastic-sealed connections, and verification testing available for mold-sensitive households.
